What's anyone done today

Despite the sunshine, I've been in today finishing off sorting out my spare room, and what a day it was. There's a shelf in there where my photo albums live, I glanced through them, may go through them again later in the week, but when I opened one it literally blew me away, pictures, in black and white, of my childhood, one with my mum and brother, one from school, my Baptism Certificate from 1962!!!! Pictures from when I was presented with my Queens Guide Award, looking through it was amazing, anyway the spare room is now nice and clean , not overly tidy because there's a couple of bags in there to go to the charity shop at some time.

The picture is from when I did my elephant experience 5 yrs ago

You've had a very good day, isn't it great looking at old photos and to see your Baptism certificate, how lovely is that. Now you can relax and know you've done a good job.

I've been out on my bike, cleaned the washing machine (I know that sounds strange as it's a washing machine), I used a powder cleaner. I washed every single bit of our bedding and vacuumed the mattress, rang a friend and range my youngest daughter.

Have a lovely evening.

Alicia 😊

It looks like you are having so much fun Jennymary in the photograph. There is nothing better than going through the old tin of family photo's. You always come across lot's of surprises. I walked the dogs earlier but i think it was a little to warm for them so I didn't say out as long as I normally do. Have a pleasant evening. xx

What a fanastic find Jennymary, I love to look through old photographs and those certificates we keep from oh so long ago. It always brings back some memory or another of what was happening at that time. I have to say that that line in the song "I was born under a wandering star" from Paint Your Wagons is absolutely true. " I never saw a sight that didn't look better, looking back"!

What did your 'elephant experience' entail? It sounds fascinating.

I've been fairly quiet today. I did soup and cornbread for our evening meal so it was simple, quick and tasty. I've read some more of my ebook "The Gentleman of Moscow" and have reserved the audiobook online from my county library. I'm really enjoying reading it but progress is slow, so I figure I might be able to pick up the pace a bit with the audiobook.

I bet you are pleased with yourself to have the spare room done. They are notorious for gathering 'things' aren't they. In a way I'm glad I no longer have one! Enjoy the rest of today and I hope you have a pleasant Easter Sunday, too. 🐥

Hi Callendersgal, my elephant experience lasted 2 hours, started with putting a few bits of fruit down for them, while they were munching on that started preparing breakfast, they both have their own dishes with their names on, while they are breakfast went into their field and put down cabbages for them to snack on, one of them had a bad tooth and I wasn't allowed to help with this but the keepers did what they had to do, then they looked after their feet, again I had to step back, then when all that was done the showers were turned on, yes they have overhead showers, then I showered them with the hose, then they were allowed to go out, getting weighed on the way, finally remember the fruit at the beginning, well what goes in must come out (sorry if you're eating while reading this) so into the inside enclosure to scoop it up, it really an amazing 2 hours

That sounds like a nice day.

I haven’t figured out how to attach a photo yet otherwise there would be one of the new potato bed, and new raised bed for winter squash.

Another 5 yards of soil moved. At least this batch was down hill.

So it was a productive day along with pizza in the outdoor wood oven.
