It would seem at times I can cope and times I struggle
It is the loneliness and isolation and dealing with an anxious elderly Mother overseas
I wonder how others are able to deal with anxiety and how this impacts on their day to day lives

Anxiety is very damaging to us in so many ways. I have suffered anxiety and panic attacks for the last 4 years since experiencing ICU for 19 days and the subsequent recovery then last Xmas 2 heart attacks and double pnuemonia. I use distraction whether it is meditation or TV or Radio or trying to accomplish some simple job in the home. I am not alone and have a supportive wife but my anxiety is still very serious. I phone friends and I tell people how I feel. I also pray a lot not to any religious god but to a greater power and that helps. I also use 1/2 tab of Lorazepam before going to bed which helps. I sometimes talk to my anxiety and treat it as a companion because it is always lurking around the next corner. You are not alone and I do wish you well. A day at a time.
