I have just been notified about this site this morning. Well done Health Unlocked. Hullo. Pleased to meet you!
I am 73yrs of age, have COPD, aggressive Rheumatoid Arthritis & Osteo A., degenerative spine listed for surgery in May (which won't happen), and chorea. All moderately to well controlled at present.
Should have moved today from Orbit sheltered to extra-care flat, but all sign-offs stopped. My home is a sea of bags & boxes, which I can't bear to unpack, though I can't find anything!
I do joint & back exercises 2-3 times daily; I also did 60 pretend runs on the spot this morning, incl suitable arm movements, though my knees could let me know about it later!
Happy to hear from anyone. Best wishes for everyone to keep🍀safe.

I am v fortunate in having a nice view, a large building & garden to walk around, & maybe even, if I time it right & am lucky, a sneaked walk to the river along the little path opposite. Also I am a v big reader, which gives great pleasure. Eclectic, really, huge collection from library & charity shop at weekend. At present coming to the end of some marvellous short stories by Joseph Conrad.
What can we do, only our best... Life is a gift, and we have a responsibility, really, to enjoy it as much as we can, even under these limiting conditions. Yes, it is scary, and I do wobble a bit, but I vowed to endeavour not to worry excessively but take all sensible steps possible and then leave it with the Lord. So far so mostly good!
Night night & God bless. I have Anne Tyler to look forward to after Conrad..!
You have a wonderful attitude - probably helped you manage all your issues! Keep moving if possible - helps mind and body. Best of luck from an Okie RN
I'm only 26 but have a list of health problems a mile long including very severe poorly controlled asthma. Doc says if I get another lung issue this year that might be it for me. So I've been self isolating. I have/had shoulder surgery scheduled for April 1st to re-attach my bicep tendon but while no one's called it off yet. I imagine I'll get that call at any time. It's great that your exercising. I'm trying to do so myself.
Good to meet you. Keep in touch. I have had many chest infections myself, and woke up in hospital on my last birthday to drips & tubes everywhere + an alarmed bed - severe pneumonia. It took a lot of time & good care incl by self for months, but the lung eventually cleared & healed completely. You CAN get through this. Best wishes XO.
