A New Day Dawns

Good morning everyone,

An early start for me today and the dawn's a pretty one and accompanied by a choir of birds singing its dawn chorus. Despite all of our current troubles there are still moments of peace and beauty to be found.

Wishing all mums in UK a happy Mothering Sunday (or Mother's Day if you prefer). It's going to be a very different one for most of us, but I hope you enjoy it all the same, and we'll still know the love of our children and grandchildren even if they can't physically share the day with us. We will all hold each other in our thoughts and hearts.

My quote for today comes from a small book I've owned for years called The Karma Bear. No authorship as most of the quotes are attributed to Buddha and just re-quoted.

'What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters, compared to what lies within us'

The picture was the view from my apartment at about 5.30am

Lovely photos lovely words. Was feeling very sad not to see my children and grandchildren today. But it’s important to remember they are staying away because they love us xx

Beautiful photo Callendersgal, thanks for sharing.

Spoken with daughter and family this morning via FaceTime and messaged dil who’s unwell and staying home. Had flowers and cards left on doorstep by son before he goes to work.

All very lovely and cheered me up. Xxxxx

You're a early riser Callendersgal! It is a beautiful picture, I hope you had a good start of your Sunday just after contemplating such a lovely view.

Happy mother's day to you! Have a special day chatting with your love ones today. 💕

Hi Pepa, Yes it was extra early this morning, which was how I caught that lovely sunrise. But I like to be up early for my meditation practice anyway. It's good to get it in early, before all the distractions of the day start.

I certainly will be chatting with my loved ones. I had an early celebration for Mothers' Day. as we had some kind of premonition that we might have restrictions on us by now, but I'm going to bake a cake, have a proper teapot of tea and my daughter will do the same. And we'll share in a videochat.

Have a super day yourself, whatever it is you are doing. Take care and stay safe.
