Hi everyone, hope you are all coping well with your pain levels etc.
Well yesterday (Monday) I had to increase my MTX to 15mg and at the same time I reduced my pred by 1mg so now down to 13mg of pred. Not sure if rheumy wants me off the pred altogether or just on lowest he can.
I still have painful knees and feet but neck and shoulders are good. Tops of arms are achy especially when trying to fold washing.
Back to GP today as my BP was to high so meds for that been changed and new one added. While there I will be letting him know about the overwhelming tiredness which I assume is caused by my high sugar levels. Other than this I feel great
I went to the podiatrist last week and it looks like I could already have nerve damage as when she did the blunt and sharp test on my toes and the balls of my feet I could not tell the difference.
Since yesterday noon I have had a 24hr ecg on. It has drove me nuts with all the sticky pads and wires but not long now til it comes off. I hope everything is normal as I think I have enough wrong with me to be going on with ta muchly. I have it cos of palpatations with high potassium levels though this is now normal and the palps have slowed down.
On a lighter note, I have sold 3 tote bags to raise awareness on PMR and have made the first donation of the profit from these. Remember I donate £3 of every bag sold to PMRGCAuk.
Anyway that's my update, keep smiling................you know you want to

It's good to hear that you're at least having some relief from you pain since starting MTX. I wouldn't be surprised if the "overwhelming tiredness" is actually caused by the MTX - us PMR sufferers commonly suffer from fatigue due to the inflammation in our bodies, not to mention the steroids. I once read somewhere that folic acid may counteract the tiredness but I guess your GP might want to do a blood test first to check the levels in your blood.
Gosh your little 4-legged friend is not so little any more - still gorgeous though.
I am on 5mg folic acid once a week. Will see what doc says later this morning.
Yep Harley is growing fast but is so beautiful and loveable and cuddly and I absolutely adore him. I try to go a walk with him amd our other german shepherd and hubby at least 3 times a week but hubby goes with them when I can't. It is nice though to go as me and hubby have a bit of US time while we are walking the dogs.
Been to doc's this morning and he still thinks I have PMR along with the RA as do I. My meds have been tweaked a bit, mainly my diabetes and BP meds I am beginning to feel more like myself again though get tired more easily.
got a letter from my rheumy this morning. Diagnosis by him of RA but he also has in his letter that I have PMR and being treated for it. Sounds silly but it seems more real now in writing. My doc agreed with me yesterday that I do have PMR even though at my visit to the rheumy he doubted it. He must have gone through my history or something cos he is obviously now agreeing that I have both.
Well I may as well hey, why make it easy.
Keep smiling
Hi Sue,
I admire you so much for keepng so cheerful. I know it's hard to do it sometimes. I'm so glad you've had a positive result from the specialist. The worst thing that can happen when you have an illness is disagreement between doctors about what's wrong. At least your GP now knows whats what.
Your puppy is growing so fast - into a real beauty.
believe me Pats I am not always cheerful. Sometimes I just want to curl up and cry my eyes out. But I have young kids to think about so me being depressed isn't an option. I am in pain today and so so tired. My 13yr old who has special needs has just made the yorkshire pudding batter for me bless him. The pup want sa toy lost under cupboards and I said I can't get down to get it. My 13yr old asked if I needed new knees or hips lol. I told him a new body would be better.
Yes harley is a beauty and has a fab temperment to go with it.
