To my humerus break friends...I went for a 6 week check up and X-ray. I have to stay in the brace and sling for another 6 weeks till 7th November. X-ray showed bones are in place and healing has started. No physio till it's healed. If it doesn't heal on it's own, it will have to be plated. My consultant was a visiting American from South Carolina. He's against an op but said a mid shaft break is the worst one. My aim is to be able to drive and be able to use the arm by Christmas. Want to get back on 1.5mg pred but guess at the moment I should stay on 2mg. Very mouldy but forever onward and upward. (Shoot the dog who sent me flying!)

Progress at least!!
I do hope the owner of the dog is very aware of the consequences of them not controlling their dog? Since it is the neighbours they should be I suppose!
Yes they do. We are very friendly as a lovely family. Haven't seen the dog since. Unfortunately, the dog got loose when the grandparents were dog sitting. Just one of those unfortunate things. 😩
Yes, fair enough!!! My daughter has a dog and I am quite iffy about her bouncing around though she is very good and not very big - though plenty big enough to send me flying I suspect. It's the cats that are the biggest menace - they LOVE lying on the stairs, just in front of the sliding door to the garden and, worst of all, on the runner in the hall which is a black and brown pattern, One cat is black, the other tortoiseshell and they blend in perfectly!!!
I told the consultant I'd like to shoot the dog. My hubby pipes up "But she's such a beautiful dog".Shoot the husband instead for that remark I thought!!
Oh dear! Do take utmost care. This dog is a Hungarian Visslar and hasn't been trained. Over exuberant to the extreme even though she's 7! Blame the owners not the dog.Luckily no cats around here. A forward trip would break a wrist at least.
I have a German shepherd and a chihuahua,(I know ,a strange mix!),German Shepherd is a bit reactive ,but have trained him since he was 8/weeks old, still gets 15 minutes in kitchen of a morning, doing basic commands. As PMRpro says no such thing as a bad dog, just bad owners! Some dogs are wilful from a very early age,but like children ,need firm ,loving discipline!Do hope you are on the mend?xx🌼🦮
Yes thank you but very slow. Might have the brace off in November 🤞🤞Dog training is so very important. Our chow chow was beautifully behaved but they don't jump up or even want to sit on the furniture.
Good to hear you are making good progress! As you say,dog training is essential, especially if someone has a larger breed.Got to admit though,my chihuahua ,my little pocket rocket does go on sofa on a blanket .Just glad the GSD doesn’t!🤣 Happy healing to you,xx🌼🌼😜
