Omeprazole side effect? Numb feeling in lips...

Morning all...yet another little niggle...the past few days I have sensed a sort of numbness or slight pins and needle fluttering in my lips and across face...having just re-read the poss side effects, it is listed on omeprazole list....anyone else had this sensation...? Thank you in advance. Sorry to bother you.

Never having taken it - can't help, sorry.

However - how long have you been on it? The effect is due to B12 deficiency so it might be worth speaking to the GP and asking them to check your B12 level. Have you any other signs of B12 deficiency?

Thanks for your reply...I have taken it since diagnosis in Sept 2021 , now only take 10mg, but would rather do without it. Will check with GP... ould you tell me what other signs I might look out for please...

Never affected me in that way when I took it all through GCA/pred ….😊

I gave up omeprazole and have Greek yoghurt now which seems to protect my stomach just fine. I’m just not convinced about the benefits verse any side affects are worth taking it for me.

Thank you...I have heard of others who do this as a substitute...so I will discuss this with my GP next time, as he is a good listener and very open minded about meds.
