Mouth blisters- Pred side effect?

I'm on 7mg pred having reduced down over 2 years from 45mg for GCA then back up for PMR a year later. I'm aware of many effects that pred has on hair, skin,mood etc. but I've noticed that I get huge blood blisters in my mouth if a sharp bit of food happens to scrape my tongue. This has happened frequently enough to make me wary of sharp apple skins or the very occasional crisp. They are very uncomfortable as they inevitably burst and leave a raw patch. Is this another side effect of Pred? Anyone else suffering? Thanks to all you lovely folk who have seen me through a year of lockdowns and scarcely any contact with a doctor.

I'm disinclined to think it is pred alone - I had them during the 5 years I had PMR before starting on pred. A good crispy crust of bread or a roll, pizza crust left the top of my mouth raw but they would happen out of nowhere too - felt as if I'd scalded my mouth.

my first Rheumy, put me on 8mg of folic acid a day, so that mouth ulcers dont happen. However, for the most part it keeps it from happening until, I started taking Actemra shots. Now there is no rhyme or reason with the shots even with 8mg, that I get a mouth ulcer. So my GP told me it was okay to take more folic acid when I take my Actemra shot for a couple of days. So I take 5mg in am, 3mg at noon, 2mg at dinner, and 2mg at bedtime x 3 days It keeps it from happening

Are you also still on MTX? Though they have been found as a result of TCZ treatment.

No ! I've never been on it, offered to me but I refused and would never go on it unless in dire need.
