Hope most of you caught Sarah Mackies talk today I thought the part on no NICE guidelines for PMR was good how we should work together with our GP’s. Look out for the recording when it’s released. There was a lot of sound information and guidance.

I hope they put it on the charity site as a permanent feature - terrific introduction to PMR that a lot of doctors could do with seeing!

Bless her though - she has such faith that all doctors see things the way she does! If only ...

Its great that here are such knowledgeable and compassionate Rheumatologists and GPs around! I just cannot understand how some of the narcissistic ill informed Rheumis get away without being pulled up. Maybe its because when we are ill its harder to be assertive and call them to task. Medics also to stick together.

I thought it was really informative although it made me feel like I've been burying my head in the sand (for 6yrs) about possible side effects of pred. I need to watch it again a couple of times to take it all in. My immediate reaction was - 'I'd really like to send this recording to my GP practice' - oh, and possibly even my rheumatologist ☹️

I’m newish to this site and do not know who Sarah Mackie is or how I could have seen this item. I’d be really grateful for directions. Thank you.

There have been recordings of all the presentations this week - and hopefully they will be sent out next week to members who requested a link. But if you contact by Chat facility one of the following, they can help

SophieMB or Fran_Benson

Maybe have a look at this beforehand -

Hello and welcome.

In a nutshell:

Sarah Mackie is a Rheumatologist who works for Leeds Teaching Hospitals. She works with PMRGCA.org.uk providing information, guidance and support to the charity and has done for many years. The links to the three talks will be on our website but all members of the charity got an email inviting them to join in the talks for PMRGCA week. Have a look at the website.
