I thought my hot flushes had gone after 8 years of surviving the menopause but since being diagnosed with PMR in March this year they have returned. I wonder if it’s the condition or the steroids that cause it ?
I was lucky and apart from the hot flushes and a few night sweats I didn’t have any after major symptoms of the menopause. I’m off to Cyprus in 10 days and looking forward to some warm sun on my joints but I wonder how my body will now cope with any heat. Has anyone else felt that PMR made their menopause symptoms return?

It can be either or both. Hot flushes are more common in GCA but aren't unusual in "just" PMR, they were/are a feature of mine.
I find heat more difficult now than I did, especially in sun and actively seek shade once the air temp is above low 20s - though living halfway up an Italian mountain there is real heat in the sun. You will also be likely to burn more easily being on pred so be careful.
I absolutely have hot flashes since my diagnosis but am not sure if it is from the PMR or the Prednisone. I was lucky enough to have had very few during menopause so this is a brand new sensation for me and not a fun one!
