I now understand that stress caused my flare. Work issues and my son's divorce both hit this fall and continued through February. Thus the jump in pain and consequently having to jump up from 2 years of 4.5 mg to 15.
I am understanding this condition more and more every day. I am determined to keep my stress level low. Counseling, a great book "The Body Keeps the Score" and new exercise program are my tools. And reaching out to you guys (not easy for me...probably for a lot of us).
I think I am okay at 10 for now, coupled with the exercise. I have supplemented with Tylenol, but I feel much, much better.
I encourage all of us to do whatever it take to keep stress at bay.

Good luck with keeping stress level low… problems it’s not always that easy… and if Pred has your PMR under control then you shouldn’t really need Tylenol..
The Tylenol helps, but I only have taken a few - two tablets every other day for the last week. I doubt I'll take any tomorrow. It was helping with the taper. Also, I think some of my symptoms are osteoarthritis. Walking every day, reading this book on trauma and meditating seem to have put me on a good course. I will stay on 10 mg for another 10 days or so before I attempt a taper. I am grateful for your help.
Family stress is a real contributor...children's problems are very significant...but, we have to remind ourselves, whilst supporting them, that they are adults, and we also have needs, and support. Self care is important too. Best Wishes.
