My Gynecologist had a heart attack and has PMR.

My gyn has a heart attack two months ago. His heart stopped for 12 minutes and then they revived him and took him to surgery. When I was diagnosed the end of summer I contacted him about my 80ml of prednisone. He then revealed to me he had PMR but got off prednisone in six months by taking supplements. See he is Seventh Day Adventist.

So my question is, have any of you had a heart attack or heart issues since having PMR? I’m on a statin now.

Hi

I started Preds in Sept 2015 but belive I had PMR for 3 years previously

About Aug 2017 saw Cardiologist as was breathless and with some chest pain occasionally.

All test came back ok

May 2019 HA out of the blue but had become more breathless which was put down to Preds .Angiogram completed but no stents required just managed with meds and diet .

Did the PMR have anything to do with it?

That we have no way of knowing but I am no longer breathless and at present doing ok .

I suffered a Takotsubo cardiomyopathy November 2018, sometimes called heartbreak syndrome. My hubby had a seizure and was taken to hospital, in the ambulance I started to get a dull pain in my chest like indigestion. I took a Gaviscon but it didn't go away. I mentioned it to a nurse in A&E and she said did I want it investigated. "Yes please!"

Ended up with me in hospital for a week and Hubby sent home the next day. As I am his carer he had to stay with my sister for a week. I am now on pills for blood pressure and 80mg statin a day. When I was discharged I was told I would get appt. at the cardiac Clinic for a follow-up ultra-sound in 2-3 months, still waiting!

Hubby now might have something called PSP, trouble walking and speaking and swallowing,

long waiting list with NHS so have decided to go private for a consultation, first appt. Jan 6th.

Merry Xmas everyone x
