Good news for me!

Saw the Rheumatologist yesterday & Doctor today. Rheumy wants me to taper 1/2mg every 6 weeks instead of 1mg every 4 weeks. Doctor is more than happy to discontinue blood tests & apt’s every month & for me to monitor everything myself. I can call Doc if I need to. Having read on this forum how lots of you are working to your own tapering plans with support from Doctor I am really pleased to have this result. Thank you all!

I had a very similar experience at my Rheumy appt yesterday. Like you I am effectively monitoring my tapering myself with a review in 6 months. Any issues, I just call the help line. Best of luck.

That's what I've been doing - 0.5 every 6 weeks. My GP also left it to me - his words: "You're in charge". But it did mean the GP practice had no record of where I was in the taper.

I used to let my GP surgery know at regular intervals -about every 2 or 3 months as prescription changed.

That’s a very good idea, I hadn’t thought that far ahead yet.🙂
