Increase Prednisone?

Rough week...

I got as low as 12.5 because of Rheummy pressure...had splitting headache and eye pain which I posted earlier...he said he didn't think it was from GCA...I am pretty much ignoring him now, just need him to keep refilling my prednisone.

Anyway, I went back up to 15 mg, and got slightly better, after a couple days went to 17.5. Still slight headache ...now I have been on 20 mg for just over 2 weeks and feel much better until this week....no headache or eye pain, but had an abscess on my rear end. also had pain in left achilles tendon and had been going to PT for months...finally, on fathers day, went to get on lawnmower and felt a pop on tendon...felt like someone kicked me from behind. After a few minutes, pain was tolerable but the abscess sitting on mower was very sharp. Did the lawn...next day I went to ER (in US, sorry)...they drained the abscess and felt much better. They put me on antibiotic Augmentin for 10 days...rheummy said skip Actemra this week,,,By Thursday, I got medical center to look at my foot, and after imaging, etc., they said i have a torn achilles tendon...foot is swollen, black and blue...they want to avoid surgery since I am on plavix and countless other meds, so they put me in a cast for 3 weeks, then a boot, hoping it will heal on it's own...today is day 3 and the cast is driving me nuts! Very difficult to get around and do simple things and it is taxing me and my wife who is an angel...I hate to go higher on pred., but wondering if I should....thank you for letting me rant....

The idea is you REST it! And if you can avoid going higher on the pred, try to do so.
