Have a look here for info:nhs.uk/medicines/candesartan/
Healthunlocked has its own forum for CKD which you might like to join:
I wish you well.
Have a look at this re stages of CKD-

Stage 2 is considered as mild - and can be helped by a small change in diet. ..surprised your GP didn’t suggest that.
My readings have shown stage 3 for years, and apart from first time when GP agave me a leaflet no one seems to worry… but as I have no symptoms guess that’s why.
Like most things, kidneys don’t function as well as they did as you age.. and they do worry a bit more about high BP and diabetes. Is yours well controlled?
Is Doxizosin as well or instead of Candesartan?
I started showing stage 3 CKD quite soon after starting steroids for PMR. I did not know for two years. It was just that I signed up to go on line and happened to see it. No one ever mentioned it though. I did ask one GP and he just shrugged and said lots of people have CKD.
Stage two is not actively damage at all and the test is probably a computer generated figure - automatically offered when other blood tests are being done. The accurate method includes a 24 hour urine collection and the automatic one makes assumptions that may not be true. Also it registers as CKD2 when the eGFR figure is 89 instead of 90 and that could well be due to the fact it was measured after you had a steak dinner the night before so the blood proteins were high due to that! Or hadn't been drinking enough and you were dehydrated and that also affects some blood tests,
Kidney function falls with age anyway, even though there is no actual kidney damage and a figure of 85 is normal for someone over 60 - and comes up on the estimated GFR as Stage 2 kidney damage as shown in the first link. You are in your 70s you say in your bio - 75 is about right and that is in the middle of the estimated range - it isn't due to your medication at all. Just an inevitable part of the aging process.
I looked at the info on that med just now and it says do.not take if you have diabetes. I am concerned thd doc or pharmacist did not catch that...at least the doc. Not sure you are on any meds for diabetes. Lordy!
