I was recently informed that if you are on more than 15 mg of prednisone the Covid boosters and vaccines do not work. We should be looking into Evusheld . Is there any validity to this?

It does sound unlikely. Where did you hear it?
From a speaker from the vasculitus foundation.
If he had said they started not to work so well at 15mg I might have believed him, but there was an article in Pulse that was talking about vaccines working in a limited way at 80mg.
Hi Piglette, and gosh! good to hear Pulse is still being produced. I worked on the magazine nearly 50 years ago. It was sooooo interesting. Also thank you everyone for keeping this site going I find it so supportive and wouldn’t want to I be without it.
wow, Pulse was always considered an excellent magazine. The know all of the scientific world!
That’s great news Thank you !
Fiction....I just had my fifth jab...no problems at all. 💗
They are meant to be less effective above 10mg but not useless.
I cannot answer that but had mine yesterday, I advised of PMR diagnosis in the last year and that I was on Pred - the nurse next door - well the next space popped her head around and specifically asked what does I was on, when I said 7mg down from 15mg 6 months ago, she said, yes, thats fine. So I would suggest that she asked the question for a reason, I would ask the GP's.
If you had a 3-stage primary course as was recommended then the response to the vaccine even in severely compromised patients was said to be similar to that found in healthy subjects. Don't know if they have identified anything any different. Here they set the bar at 20mg - but I don't know why or what they give if you are at 20mg. I didn't get above 19mg and I haven't to my knowledge had Covid.
I really think it is unlikely that we are going to all get Evushield! Especially in the UK ...
I’ve had five Covid boosters. The first one I had when I was on 35 mg and the last on 15mg. My rheumatologist recommended it every time It came out (he never mentioned my pred doses) I never heard of Evusheld until last week. , I wouldn’t even know where to get it. As far as I know I have never had Covid 🙏. Thanks everybody
Had vaccine this morning. The nurse asked my partner about autoimmune medications. So when it got to me I told her I had been on Pred for nearly three years with another two to go and tapering. She asked what it is for, but not the doseage. All ok. So I assume she realised that I was on a low dose.
