5th Covid Vaccine

Had a text last night inviting me to have my 5th Covid Vaccine (2nd booster). Something in the back of my mind tells me that I had read this would be six months after the last one, but this appointment is only 3 months later. Have tried to Google the info but without success. Has anyone else had their appointment? Thanks

How long did you wait between 3rd and 4th vaccine?

Hollybee21 profile image
Hollybee21 in reply toChewy21

I only had 3 months on that one too. Third on 1st October and 4th on New Years Eve, but was warned that time that they were being brought forward.

I had my third in December and was called for my fourth this week but I feel like it's too soon for me having had covid in September too so I've asked them to postpone mine for another three months.

Practically neighbours 🤣 I must admit they have been very proactive during the pandemic and deserve our thanks.

Yes they have been amazing throughout fair play to them.

I’m 70 and almost 4mg steady (just another week at 4.5 for two days). Not had the 4th vaccine let alone the 5th. I would have thought the criteria in part would be the dose of Pred you were on when you had the 1st jab, 2nd etc. Looking back at my records I was on 9.5mg for the first dose of AZ.

The decision of needing to be aged 75 set by JCVI is very much a cut off date, just like pass or fail in an exam. Immunodeficiency qualifies but who decides - GPs who are overworked?

My appointments come from our local Health Board not the GP.

That makes me think you're in Scotland?

No, Wales. Swansea Bay Health Board.

Ah yes, I realised it wasn't England, as we don't have Health Boards. It may be that the guidance is different across the home countries.

I never realised that 🤷‍♀️

Wow! I have had three vaccines so far and a fourth has never been mentioned. Where is it going to stop 4, 5, 6?? Or “every three month” for years (perhaps)! I am over 80 so supposed to be vulnerable but I don‘t fancy being injected every three months.

I don’t think it’s ever going to stop until the scientists find the vaccine to stop it in its tracks.

lots of friends who have had all the vaccines and top ups etc are still getting Covid ….maybe I am taking a chance not having any more!

It never did stop you getting it - it was to prevent you getting it so badly.
