I have had a message from my local Health Authority (Swansea Bay NHS) stating that they will be in touch shortly with a third vaccine for Covid followed by a booster vaccine 6 months later. Has anyone else heard of this?

Third Covid Vaccine
Why don’t you just add the comment you made in follow up post to this thread…then it will make sense. You can then delete other post before anyone answers.
Think it has been discussed in the news …and your health authority is on the ball.
Thank you, will have a look. New to this website, so still finding my way around.
I thought the 3rd vaccination was the booster! So are we being offered what's technically two boosters?
They stated we would be having four vaccines in total.
My GP practice are saying that those who are severely immunosuppressed require 3 vaccinations to complete their course followed by a booster vaccination
I had my booster 5 weeks ago due to cancer, did get a mild reaction so my immune system is working.
I had my third injection on Saturday and was told that I would be called for a forth. They didn’t call it a booster so felt like I was being revaccinated. I had AstraZeneca first and now I’m having Pfizer. I think this is what they are doing in Israel but can find very little information. I am confused about what if any immunity that I do have left.p
I read about that on the Swansea bay Facebook page, that we will need four vaccines. I am hoping for my third soon, how did they contact you was it by letter or phone?
If you search ‘third primary Covid vaccination’ then look for the gov.uk website, you will see the statement from the JCVI which was published on 1st September. Lots of information in there. It is not the booster. An immunosuppressed friend is having her third vaccination today, having been contacted by her GP recently. She will have her booster in around six months.
I've just booked the booster online after receiving the email from NHS. So efficient and very impressed. I'll feel much better once I've had it as now on methotrexate sc, hydroxychloroquin and pred. On this immunosuppressant cocktail I don't want to get any infection, let alone COVID.
I received a text late yesterday from my surgery confirming that I am eligible for a COVID-19 Booster vaccination (their words) and providing a link to follow. This gave details of a local walk in vaccination centre which will be operating on Friday this week. A further link led to a form which I had to complete and print to take with me. The form is entitled: "Vaccine Record Form COVID-19 Immune deficiency or Immunosupressant medication Booster". As well as being on Pred (the immunosuppressant medication) I do have an immune deficiency (low IgG levels) for which I am being treated by the Royal Free Hospital's Dept of Immunology. I inject 60ml of Hizentra (IgG) every week by pumped infusion. I'm hoping to get away with no ill effects from the jab as I am playing bass guitar in church on Sunday!!
I'm impressed...it is confusing at best in the states. I asked my doctor about the 'booster' a month ago and then received it. Once again...so thankful for this forum to keep me informed and asking questions. 💖
Just had local practice text NHS and offering booster from Oct 2nd to those with age and risk factors. They will assess accordingly and send invitation. They are also on the ball. Mine will be pfizer like the other two I've had I expect.
I'm in USA, but have already had 3 Pfizer shots. Doc said prednisone and methotrexate qualified me as immunocompromised. Don't know what your rules are though.
