Pmr what does should I start with

Recommendation from guidelines is between 12.5mg & 25mg, but most start on 15mg.

Have you been diagnosed, or just think you have PMR…bit more info about you & your illness would be nice.

I was 5 years ago used predison for 1year tapered off slowly to 0 suddenly had attack 2weeks ago see dr in two days thanks again for your help

The only thing that really helps PMR is steroids. You need your doctor to prescribe them.

The 2015 Recommendations say "the lowest effective dose in the range 12.5-25mg)

Personally I think 20mg is a good place - if it is far too high, you will be able to reduce easily.

I started on 15mg and it worked for me

Good, but still remember the illness is still there lurking, it’s only the inflammation part of it that’s being controlled by Pred.

I ended up on 25mg as 15 wasn’t enough to quell the symptoms.
