I need some input please. I am currently at prednisone 14 mg from 30 mg. I have so much fatigue I could sleep 24 hours a day is this normal as you lower your Prednisone?

How fast have you been tapering? Many of us feel a lot of fatigue and some believe it is as much caused by PMR itself as pred. I didn't get fatigued until I had dropped dosage to around 8 or 7 mg, but I've been able to get enough rest, being retired, and I think this is important. When on pred, especially at the beginning, we may feel so well there's a tendency to overdo things. Unfortunately, even behaving as we always did before we became ill can be too much, so we have to make sure we balance every period of activity with at least the same amount of rest. Even social time with friends can count towards activity! Have you read the spoon theory?

1mg per week.....

Maybe time to slow that down a little? You are still above 10 mg so 1 mg is a good amount, but perhaps you need to allow your body a little more time to adjust?

Have you seen this?

4mg a month is quite a high taper. I am not sure I could have done that even above 10mg, although some others may find it OK.

Perhaps you are overdoing it? The fatigue must be managed by pacing, the pred has no effect on it at all:

But changing your dose every week is never allowing your body to readjust - 2.5mg every 3 weeks would have been far fairer on your body and would have been fine between 30 and 15mg.

Not what you're looking for?
