I've recieved an email from the NHS to say that I'm eligible for my 4th jab. I can't have it unless I have my 3rd jab referral letter which I don't have. My gp said to contact 119 but all they've said is to take my prescription with me to a walk in centre. All sounds a bit random to me. Has anyone else had this problem?.

Hard to book 4th jab
Look at this post from last week- oodles of replies - healthunlocked.com/pmrgcauk...
I've just received same email. Now to try and sort it out.
I have had this email but had my 4th jab a few weeks ago. I went to a drop in vaccination centre with a letter from my doctors surgery and had no problem
If you can't find the letter and have nothing else to prove you are immunosuppressed, you could try ringing a walk-in centre, particularly if it is a shop, so you don't have a wasted journey. You can enter your postcode on a walk-in centre finder on Gov.uk
I had a lot of trouble getting the letter. GP said Rheumatologist, rheumatologist said GP. It really got me down. Eventually I got the letter (from rheumatologist). When I told the receptionist at the vaccination centre about the trouble I had, she said “you could just have brought any letter from the rheumatologist, which explains what medication you are on and we would have given it to you!’So take the letter you have received to the vaccination centre, they will look you up on the computer. It won’t say third dose because the system was never set up to enter 3rd dose, just booster. They will see that you have had three. Tell them you haven’t been able to get an actual letter confirming your condition from your GP, but take something that identifies who you are and maybe a rheumatologist letter or prescription. The NHS guidelines say long term steroid use and not any specific dose. If you aren’t given it, you may have to go back to GP and complain, but the vaccination centres aren’t busy, so it would be worth taking the chance.
What a wind up Sue. I haven’t heard anything about a 4th jab yet, my physio was concerned about this and wrote comprehensively to my GP. Although no response, I think the letter may do for a walk in centre. The GP’s answer phone message says don’t enquire about this we are working on it! 🤷
Yes, I was told by my hospital that I am immunosuppressed so I need my 3rd booster. I called up and they said, "call 119" ... Call THEM and they tell me I can't get a 3rd booster unless I have a letter from the hospital, not the GP! Now I have to reach out to the consultant again (due for an injection any day but I want the booster if I can get it).
Hope you get it sorted.
I have also received an email about the 4 dose, which is known as a booster - am a bit confused as I had my booster in Oct 2021?
Hi Sue
I too had a letter from NHS re 4th COVID vaccine
I too phoned my doctor three times in an attempt to get a referral letter but was told each time it wasn’t necessary.
That afternoon I went to my nearest walk in vaccine centre with the NHS letter and was given the vaccine with no problem at all.
All I was asked was why I needed another vaccine. On replying that I was on steroids for PMR, I was given the jab.
Hope you manage to get your Jab.
I had no I’ll effects from it whatsoever.
