Firstly, thank you, thank you, to all of those who replied to my question about Pred before tooth extraction, what a wonderful bunch of people you are, once again find myself thanking the gods for this forum. After reading them all , I read the prescription the Dentist has given me and it is indeed for HYDROCORTISONE 100 mg, which is ,someone pointed out is equivalent to 20mg Pred, cannot tell you of the relief I feel having sorted this out.

Hi and thank you.There is an even happier ending to this story, when the local pharmacist saw the prescription he queried it with me first and then contacted the Dentist, the Dentist referred him to the Consultant .The upshot was that my Dentist called me to say that the consultant had said that in my case it would be ok if I just took and extra 5mg on the morning of the extraction, I can live with that !!!.

That's exactly what I had to do a few years ago, when I was on 15mg pred - just add 5mg on the day of the extraction. All the best.
