Rubbish - someone is telling porkies…

If you can’t get satisfaction from appropriate department then write to PALS at hospital.

Which is how it should be. Six months is a piece of nonsense.

The only way I got my results was I happened to mention my difficulties to an acquaintance who was somehow in the know - she used to work in that hospital. She gave me a name. I don't know how you'd go about getting the right name. In my case I'd tried calling what I believed was the relevant department but they simply didn't refer me on to the individual who could help me. This is pre-covid in a different country, however.... Before that I was preparing to try to get my own medical record via Freedom of Information legislation! It was totally absurd. The second scan the following year if I remember correctly, now knowing the potential roadblocks, I had to have a letter from my GP asking that she be sent the complete record, not just the much less informative summary she'd got the year before. This meant in the end I got complete record, including images for both scans I'd had, which is far more information than patients normally receive where I live. 😲

What sort of scan was it? A problem seems to be getting radiologists to look at the scans. I had one where the radiologist was in Malta and the other the person was in Australia. NHS farming it out.

There is some logic in the Oz contract - they work overnight while NHS ones are asleep ...

In my case it was ready the next day from Oz. I am not sure it is based on logic though but where they can get stuff done.

No, no - there was some logic in that contract. Malta - they speak English and work at the same time as the NHS!

That us true, they don’t have to translate the report into English and thus need two people to be involved.

I'll be polite and say "piffle" to the 6th months is normal comment.

Wouldn’t worry me - but then I was married to a serving soldier for many a year and worked in that environment for long time - but others may be more sensitive. 😊

but I did read between the lines….

My Grandfather - yes we are going back a long way - used the term baldycocks for such matters. Never heard anyone else use it.

sounds like a cross between balderdash and poppycock 😄
