Burning hot - no fever

Does anyone have burning, tingling inside, mainly the trunk, but no fever. I lay for hours last night, with air conditioning at F68. No covers. Could feel it was icy cold, but I was still burning inside. Is it PMR or prednisone? Many thanks, Jane

It sounds as though a call to the doctor is needed.Do you have any spots or rash?

You complained of this 5 months ago. Did you have medical advice at that time? Given your medical history I would be inclined to report anything odd.Having said that (PMR/GCA/LVV, Pred 7 mgs, Actemra weekly subcutaneous injection) I feel as if my thermostat has gone. I get prickly hot and cold sensations, frozen feet, burning feet, hot feet in bed, a sweaty head, hot when everyone else is cold etc. Not all the time and I haven’t reported it. I think it is long term steroid use and I ration what I tell my beleaguered GPs. You however, must take great care of yourself.

Thanks, Dorset Lady and Sheffield Jane. Yes, I did ask back then. It died away so I left it, but after my Moderna, PMR raged back and my prednisone dose went up. Am talking to my GP today, but she hasn't much PMR experience. Her past advice was too fast tapering.

Don't know whether this is PMR or too high prednisone (am on 10 mg.) up from 7 mg before vaccine. Have found from reading your posts that splitting the dose and taking the first half before 4 am very helpful. Many thanks to all who rely. Jane

Unfortunately Pred side effects and the dose you are on are not always happy partners. You maybe on the perfect dose to control your inflammation but still experience side effects. I have accumulated a number of them. I tend to deal with them as they arise. Involving the doctor if medication is required. I am sorry that you had one of those horrible nights. Most of us are familiar with them. We are not nagging you in reminding you that you have had this symptom before. You sometimes have to be a bit of a detective. I genuinely forget with myself - probably self preservation. Are you waiting for a Rheumatologist? I think you could do with one, a good one that is. I think Jinasc has a gold star list.

My GP just told me to reduce my prednisone by 1/2 mg every 5 days. Will see what happens.

I wish you well! I could not manage that.
