More details please! Is it all the time? When you walk? When you are sitting? What relieves it?
It usually starts when I have been sitting I try to rest my legs but once it’s started I don’t really get any relief, legs are still burning whilst I am in bed. Usually better when l first get up in the morning. I also get a sensation around the front of my feet, as thought I have an elastic band around them. I don’t really know how else to explain it. I have had ruptured Bakers Cysts in the past, and wondered maybe is this related to them .
Any advice appreciated
Thank you
Jean
Does any of this sound familiar?

otherwise nothing comes to mind. If it were when you walk that would be different
That is interesting. I suffer from bright red burning feet at night. It also made me think of the Neuropathy that mamici is currently having investigated. I hope she sees this link.
Yup, saw it! Thanks! There are some similarities, but I don't have the itching sensation, mottled red skin, skin that feels warm or hot to the touch, or swelling.... My feet and legs are either cold to the touch or normal to the touch, although I believe they are ALWAYS "freezing." I do get sporadic "pain" in heels and balls of feet... and the there is the dreaded numbness, tingling, pins and needles sensation! Ohhhh and the "creepy crawly" sensation, like little bugs running around under you skin! Nice.
Oh I don't have tight calf muscles either...
Sounds like neuropathy to me. Burning feet, tight muscles--what I think of as locking--and symptoms worse at night, as least at first. Causes vary. See recent post by mamici1.
I recognise what you say though my symptoms are strongest when I'm in bed. I posted 9 months ago about this (see post 'Legs on fire'). Subsequently I had nerve conduction tests in case the problem was peripheral neuropathy but the results were normal. Since then, although I still have the same sensations, they are usually far milder and less disturbing. I just have the occasional night when they keep me awake. I'm now on 15mg of pred per day instead of 30 as when I first posted on the subject, so I'm assuming it's one of the many steroid side effects.
Hi This and fatigue are my 2 main symptoms. I originally thought it was related to my knee damage. However I was diagnosed with PMR 3 weeks ago and since taking steroids it’s just about disappeared. My legs felt like I’d done a marathon with no prior training. I get it when on my feet. Whilst sitting/ lying down it’s ok. Also get it to a lesser degree in my upper thighs. Found it very difficult to stand for more than a couple of minutes. It’s early days of my diagnosis so it’s assumed this is PMR related
I get very bad pains in my leg muscles - yes like I've done a heavy workout - the lower I go on the pred the worse it gets!! Not sure what the answser is though. Also very bad feet pain!! Wish we could take a magic pill with NO side effects to sort all this out!!
Have you had the blood flow in your legs/ankles checked? If you have inflammation in leg arteries a higher dose of pred may improve it enough for the blood flow to be enough to prevent the pain.
No - never had anything like that. They just told me its fibro!!!!! But as I said before - then why does the pred help if its meant to be fibro!!??
Ask them to check your ankle/brachial pressure index:

If they are competent it'll take a few minutes. If it's fine that good - if it isn't then they'll look a bit silly won't they
