Thank you to whoever is responsible for the layout of this forum.

Hi all,

Not a question but a commendation.

I would like to applaud whoever is responsible for the layout of this forum. It is the most user friendly layout and design I have personally come across. My son (who produces and updates web pages for other people) would be impressed by the ease of use and clarity of design. I particularly like the way one post leads into another when you have gone through the last reply - genius. We have all come across forums and websites that make life so extremely tedious that you want to throw your computer, tablet or mobile out the window, but this isn't one of them.

So, THANK YOU, to the person/s responsible for all the work put into these pages. I would have a drink to salute you, but I've given up alcohol ;)

Here here. Is what i say. Wonderful forum for people like me who find computers difficult to get around.

Nothing to do with us, we just look after the contents - but don't hold your breath because even HU can have its moments when it comes to functionality!

It goes without saying that the wonderful people who contribute advice, sympathy and knowledge are the mainstay of this forum. I just really wanted to show my personal appreciation for the "back-room person/s responsible for the layout of this particular site; they are so often forgotten and yet have made my life easier - and every little bit helps.

It's unlikely they will ever see it - the layout is much the same as it has always been I think, there have been a few changes in the last year or two but they were reasonably minor. Unlike the ones undertaken on the patient.info forums which succeeded in pretty much killing off the PMRGCA forum there because it became so unwieldy to use that even I gave up in the end. I just drop in very occasionally to tell people to come here!!

Don’t be modest-the info you impart is invaluable.

As PMRpro says we are not responsible for the nuts and bolts of the forum - that’s HU.

What we can take credit for, is the content, and a lot of work has gone into providing as much accessible information as we can (done by a few people)…but it’s the community as a whole that makes it great.

Hi DorsetLady, I totally agree that the content provided by everyone on the forum is the thing that makes it a great site; useful, informative and friendly. Being able to find the information and use the site easily is something I can appreciate as well because it saves me time and effort. So, really, I'm thanking the back-room staff for their work on producing the forum in the first place. I like to remember the unseen, behind-the-scenes, staff.

The nesting is a bit annoying. You might be the first to post on a subject but find yourself at the bottom looking like you are just copying other advice that was posted much later.

True, but under your name it does show when the reply was written…for the first 24hours it gives the number of minutes or hours from the original post (or reponse), and thereafter the number of days.

However, if the order was reversed (as it is in emails for example) then personally I think it makes it less easy to follow replies, particularly in a long thread. But maybe that’s just me.

I am easily confused 🤔. X

Me too, sometimes I reply then realise it’s ‘unsuitable’ 😜

Shouldn’t worry. We are told that the advice given by members does not replace that of medical professionals. Having said that,……? We learn by our ‘mistakes’ and these may well provoke further discussion/correction. ❤️

It’s a concern that increasingly some people cannot access their doctors and become more reliant on other sufferers opinions.

It is, Jane. I've just had a look at my surgery's website. Under 'Latest Newsletters' I see that the last one is dated Winter 2019. The first sentence states that, "The purpose of this newsletter is to keep you informed of what is happening at the ........surgery".

If we know what is happening we may be a little more understanding.

Maybe it is the truth???? Nothing is happening ...

Said on the news this morning that GPs are asking for more money because they claim they need more room. The rooms they have seem to be empty - so they could make a start ...

😂😂 To be honest, I do believe they are busy bees but to put a bit of info on the website would be very helpful and any efficient member of admin could do this in minutes.

Me too. I’m at this minute using my mobile and the first post on this page shows it was written 17 hours ago. It has never shown up on my iPad. I’m not complaining as such-just finding it odd.

I think HU did an update last week or week before, so additional info has come up on newer posts, and some more recent replies.
