A special thank you for a special person.

I would just like to say an hour into this Christmas Day that I have been astounded and awestruck by PMRPro’s selfless giving on this site. I know, we know she has the task of sole carer for her OH and that her own health presents challenges.

She is selfless, well informed and reliable. Without her input, I would have been so lost. She even recommended one of the best Rheumatologists in the country to me. I am so grateful that she still finds time to put us straight . I adore her strictness. 🥰

I owe you a great deal Eileen! Happy Christmas and a truly blessed new year. You have no idea of the good you do. Special woman.

Love Jane xxxx

Wise words well spoken. Many people on here will feel the same. Grateful for the knowledge she has shared with us. Great to have a real pro here who has helped many of us with her knowledge of this condition. 🎄🎄🎄 Merry Christmas one and all 😊

We would be a very different forum without our wise. patient and humorous 'guru' - indeed a very special person whose own health and that of her husband must be of constant concern and hard work but kept in the background. Our forum, this lifeline, is shaped and held together with Eileen's knowledge and her dedication to improving our quality of life. I'd also like to thank you, Jane, for your comforting words - I've learnt a lot from your sharing. And our very own Viking Goddess, Freya (Dorset Lady) who is looking very fetching with her long locks!

A happy Christmas to us all, however and wherever our scattered 'family' live

❤️😊💐

So agree Jane. Like most on here, I learned so much from Eileen early days (and still am).

To me she’s a real professional, an honest, caring lady, and although we’ve never physically met, someone I hope I can call a friend.

From one 🙈 of the three wise 🐒🐒🐒.

Constance13 profile image

She'll love this - hates calling attention to herself but - what would we do without her? A few words of thanks for the massive amount of work and personal help she gives to each and every one of us.

DorsetLady profile image
DorsetLadyPMRGCAuk volunteer in reply toConstance13

Not a lot she can do about it! She’s the first to give credit where’s it’s due, so must expect it in return...whether she likes it or not.

Constance13 profile image
Constance13 in reply toDorsetLady

And she's the first to dish out telling offs if we aren't doing what we should.😂💥🤶

Longtimer profile image

I appreciate that, straightforward honest and informative....what more could we want when it comes to advice on health...

Constance13 profile image
Constance13 in reply toLongtimer

How's life in Norfolk? Can you get doctor/rheumatologist appointments?

How are you doing health wise? I'm not on the forum every day so I miss some posts.

Seasonal greetings (and all that).💥

Longtimer profile image
Longtimer in reply toConstance13

Norfolk has had floods...lots of rain!.....so the broads you remember must be full!

Yes, I was lucky a few weeks ago I requested to see a certain Doctor that was going to N&N, he was brilliant, his mantra is communication!....something the previous two didn`t have.....I am on MTX injections (Fridays! today!.)....no worse, so that`s a plus for me....he said we should be seeing our patients....

Hope for us all to get the right answers for our treatment so we can get well...

Hope you enjoy your Christmas.....and a painfree new year!....

I don't often contribute these days, but still read most days and you are right Jane Pro has given so much to so many of us over the years. We are all very much in her debit.

Absolutely Jane. And without taking anything away from what you’ve said I would like to add thanks and appreciation to DorsetLady. Others, including you, are so helpful with advice and tales of your own experiences. You understand how we feel.

So thank you all and I hope you are able to find some happiness this Christmas.

I don’t think I would know anything about PMR or GCA without the knowledge shared so generously from PMRpro, DorsetLady and SheffieldJane. The world has gone mad and knowledge is challenging to obtain, but these women (and the rest of you) make our lives a bit easier with their generosity, reassurance, advice and, sometimes, chastising. I have already posted my feelings of gratitude, not sure if they got through, but here is another attempt. Thank you. Merry Christmas. You have made all the difference. xxxx

Absolutely Jane you’re so right. She has been an informative, reassuring guiding light through my 4.5 year journey. I wouldn’t be half as informed and as able to advocate for myself if it weren’t for PMRpro. I’m so very grateful.

Totally agree with everything here! Merry Christmas, my friends and fellow-sufferers - I know here in New Zealand we are so fortunate, and I think of you all in the Northern hemisphere and hope things improve for you very soon, and that you can meet up with your families soon and share joyful occasions again. As we say here, Meri Kirihimete, and very best wishes to you all across the seas.

Hear hear to your message, Sheffieldjane! I totally agree with you about PMRpro- without her this site would be so much less than it is. I have not been posting as much on here myself, probably because, to be honest, I am a bit bored by it all after nearly 9 years of PMR. How she keeps her enthusiasm and willingness to help everyone to be better informed and empowered, I don’t know! But I am very grateful that she does, as are countless others.

I hope that she continues to be there for us all. X

I raise a glass to her and indeed you Jane, DL , Snazzy, Mrs Nails, jinasc, our old friend Bea and indeed all our wonderful gurus for good health and contentment in 2021—- we would be completely lost without you all! Sending much love & grateful thanks xxxxxxx

Hear, hear! The bit I can’t believe is when our dear gurus are so patient, as many questions are repeated as people new to the diseases find the same problems! Each answer is delivered with patience & thought. I think I’d be on ‘cut & paste’...and to be available for so long each & every day, & sometimes nights, too! Thanks to you all, S xx

I agree with everything everyone has said about this amazing lady. She fills you with confidence when you are wobbling around and just can’t think straight! Very caring and incredibly sensible as indeed are our other supportive ladies. I feel so grateful that there is this forum with such support. I am still struggling after over 5 years on Pred and a lot longer with symptoms. It is what it is, but to feel the forum is here to help whenever you need it is such a blessing. Again, so many thanks to you special ladies and of course the wonderful PMRpro.
