Update on my leg/hip pain & walking difficulties

Thanks to everyone who responded to my post last week. Just to let you know that I went to my lovely Physiotherapist yesterday and she says it is nerve pain from the Piriformis muscle. PMRPro was right as always. Im still having difficulty walking but have exercises to do and after speaking to Rheumatologist this morning about it during my update appointment she has said it ok to use Naproxen short term as the Physio felt an anti inflammatory would speed up healing. Can't wait for it to improve as I long to be able to walk my dog again.

Always lovely to hear some positive news...your 'diamonds' will definitely be 'happy'!😀 You must be so pleased to know there's something you can do to help the leg and hip pain. Onwards and upwards!...... slowly though! 😄

They sure will, all 3 of them !😀. My Labrador has been going off with a lovely dog walker every day, enjoying swimming in the lake. Hope the holiday is going well and doing you good.

Thankyou. It was all going so well until I got pinged by track & trace yesterday evening! Apparently I'd been within 2m of someone for at least 15mins, who'd since tested positive for covid on the 12th Aug... the day my son and his girlfriend arrived! Using Google maps though, I was able to trace exactly where I was at any given moment on that day and the only time that could have happened was when David and I stopped at the quayside cafe in Looe and sat back to back with another table. We were outside so I'm hopeful all will be OK. The ridiculous thing is, that because David and I are both double vaccinated, we didn't have to self isolate....until we followed the advice (and it is only advice!) and went for a PCR test this morning. Because we've been tested we now do have to self isolate until we get our results....which could be tonight, probably be tomorrow but maybe Thurs! Ridiculous! We'd kept ourselves to ourselves anyway, and would have continued to do so because that's the responsible thing to do, but how stupid that people can move around and may be spreading it further if they're pinged but decide not to have a PCR test. Beggars belief! So, we're having a lovely relaxing day at the apartment sitting on our terrace watching the boats on the water. I've a good novel, a quiz book and a copy of Good Housekeeping magazine at my side and tea and choccy biscuits aplenty. Sun is shining so all good.

Haha! 😄 Bet you wish you hadn't asked now!!

You look after yourself and get that physio working!

No wonder people switch the app off! Penalised for being responsible ...

I find 800mg ibuprofen and a hot water bottle over the painful area is a very good emergency measure - it needs the flooding dose but then I don't need more for up to 24 hours. I was desperate last week - and sitting on a HWB when the temps outside were in the upper 20s!!!!

Its a miserable thing to have and I sympathise. Its dull and only 16 degrees max here in Somerset today so going to get the HWB out and give it a go.
