Put simply: Yes. Can be either or both.

I had brain fog with untreated PMR and for a time after being on pred. It wasn't as bad as the PMR part and eventually, once the PMR inflammation was well controlled it went and my memory and cognitive function is back where it was before. Many people have brain fog with pred, especially at higher doses. And obviously - if you are really unlucky, both will play a part.

Oh yes most definitely Brain Fog.

A couple of months ago my neighbour advised me to use two lemons, cut in half to boil in the kettle to removed the lime scale which had accumulated. Much better than all the chemical stuff on the market.

Before going to sleep I popped the lemons in the kettle to boil in the water , and left it overnight to soak good.

Half asleep in the morning, put the kettle on , to heat up for my morning cup of tea.

Poured the hot water on the tea bag and then added the milk. Immediately the tea curdled. “Oh heck” I thought to myself, this milks gone sour. Checked the milk and it seemed ok.

Out came another cup, new teabag, poured water again and put a few drops of milk in the tea..again it curdled ... So I emptied the two litres of milk down the drain.

This time I thought to myself, I’ll make lemon tea as I have no milk.

Suddenly the penny dropped as I reached for the fresh lemon ...

Opening the lid of the kettle, I saw four halves of well boiled lemons and a scale free teapot.

I decided not to tell my children as they would start worrying that I’m forgetful and possibly losing it altogether. 🤣

At least I can now blame it on the prednisone. 👏👏👏

De-scaling works with vinegar too - doesn't smell quite as nice but you might not have wasted the milk ;)

I shall remember that for next time. Thanks. 👍

For me personally, it’s the steroids. As I reduce it’s not so bad but on higher doses I felt drugged
