Brain fog

I can't remember if I took my pred today. Had the box out but can't remember actually taking them. Don't suppose there is anything I can do now. I'm on 10mg. Funny. I can remember every biscuit that goes in the mouth ;)

Hi Chrissy,

Trouble is we do things automatically without really thinking, and then later on we actually doubt what we've done!

It happens to everyone, I'm sure lots wonder whether they've locked the door when they're miles away in the car! Oh course we have, but it's almost a subconscious thing. Even our previous PM left his daughter at the pub!

Might help if you get a doxette box, I do mine every Saturday afternoon for the week - then you can see at a glance what you've taken - mind you it doesn't stop some on here still forgetting at times!

You may realise later in the day, and of course you can always take it then, or even 5mg to get you through the rest of the day, but don't take it on the offchance you forgot.

You COULD take another one - taking 2 doses on one day isn't going to do much harm and it is certainly likely to be less uncomfortable than taking none!!!!

As DL says - dosette box!! If it is for one tablet a day you can get weekly and monthly ones (handy for doing slow reductions). I set my daily load up every night before bed - no excuse for forgetting any of them then - though I still manage to forget the afternoon tablet without having it on alarm on my phone! Another tablet I take just before dinner - and last night I forgot it until nearly bedtime because we went for a walk and to the pizzeria. Haven't got fancy enough a phone for 2 alarms on one day...

Good idea in theory. I have got one. I take them out with me in order that I don't forget to take the tablets and, as I have so many different bags, keep losing them!!!

Not very helpful probably, but I have my Prednisolone pig, a piggy eggcup that only comes out if it has Pred in it.

Thanks all for the advice. I think I will take 5mg. I have a dosette box somewhere. Was my mum's. I also am using her arm grabber thingy. ;) never thought I be using that this early. It's a godsend. That is I can find it after the grandchildren have gone. I am going to sit in this lovely sunshine for the rest of the day. This memory things a nigjtmare! !

Enjoy the sun whilst you can! Not a cloud in the sky here at the moment! Glorious.

I do that. So now I sit down for an hour with all my drugs for the week and put them in a colourful pill dispenser for each day.tapering Prednisalone has prompted me to get another dispenser just for it and put my tapering doses in it. It's a tedious job but I often bless myself when I'm thinking did I didn't I? Usually I haven't taken tablets when I think I have. ( I'd rather bounce around with 20 mgs than seize up with nil I think.

I am in denial about my biscuit consumption.

Chrissy, I can relate..

If it helps, I have a routine of always putting out the next day's tabs the evening before, next to the kettle ready to take with my morning coffee. That way, if I've got the dreaded Brain Fog - or for any other reason including too much of the red stuff ;-), I can't forget to take them.

Happy days.. and remember that Stress doesn't help in the process of recall even at the best of times!

Been there, done that and almost got the Tshirt !! Rang the chemist who advised taking the dose, did that and survived!

yep done that. and didn't realise till I went for my dose the next day, so took an xtra 2 mg that day and was ok

Arr yes, the dreaded brain fog. I take blood pressure tabs early in the morning together with Lansoprazole half hour before prednisolone with breakfast at 7am. Two days ago I got my morning medication ready at night as usual into little plastic containers ready to take in the morning. I then proceeded to take the morning tabs (without the pred) there and then, just got the last tab into my mouth and realised what the hell I had done! How brain foggy is that?
