Privigen reaction

Has anybody experienced a severe adverse skin reaction after a Privigen plasma infusion . This has happened to my husband , 80% of his body has swelled , blistered and is extremely red.

Any help or information would be very much appreciated.

Poor soul! This is not really our area of expertise. There is however a wealth of information about adverse effects from Privigen if you google it.Is your husband’s condition related to PMR/GCA or Large Vessel Vasculitis at all. If not there may be a more specific healthunlocked forum for him.

Thank you so much for your reply . I think I posted on the wrong forum but yes he does have PMR among other conditions. It was a hospital infusion , apparently his reaction is very rare but absolutely horrific.

Ig infusions are not something usually required by our members but there are several on the LupusUK forum who have experience with Ig infusions. Was it at the hospital or is he doing home ones? I assume you have contacted his medical team as an urgent matter?

Thank you so much for your reply. I didn’t think to look at LupusUK . It was a hospital infusion on 24/ 11 and his skin is still in a terrible state . He did spend 3 days in hospital as an emergency with it and is now under the care of Dermatology but apparently they have never seen a reaction like it and are struggling even with Steroids etc .

Oh right - not recent then. Must be awful - I do hope that great healer time works its miracles.
