Hi my Mum is finding that a side effect of Pred seems to be that many things taste weirdly sweet including water unless it's very cold from the fridge, so we are going to make a list of things that taste acceptable to her. What is anyone else's experience with change in perception of taste ? Thanks !

This can be a sign of steroid induced diabetes or at least high blood sugar. These levels need to be checked and a low carb, no sugar, no processed foods diet adopted.
Has your Mum had an HbA1c blood test? I normally have one every year since being diagnosed with PMR.
Hi Sefu
I was going to say exactly the same as Jane & piglette, so it’s worth mentioning to her GP so they could check her urine & get a blood test to be on the safe side.

It’s also a sign of Covid -19, might be worth a test.
