Help with good breathing
Well I would have read it - but it was impossible without an adblocker and they won't let me with one ...
See if this works...not sure given you tube lately...
If the picture appears it will work, if it remains black it won't.
I did have a laugh with my attempt to read. The first thing I saw was a grammatical error in the first line - and the ads all over it were grammar checkers!! But once they appear you can't scroll down, and it isn't the quality of my broadband. So I said sod it ...
I wonder if this is the physio I wanted him to be taught last year?
😂🤣🤣
Probably.
It was the Mail and I don’ t usually subscribe. How funny!
We all end up there by accident occasionally 😱
Sorry. It was about the fact that the majority of the lung capacity is in your back, so sleeping on your front is better for you.
It was also an exercise that ICU nurses use where the patients take 5 deep breaths and exhale. They then lie on their front, supported by a pillow and take a sixth breath and cough. This exercise is repeated for a 10 minute period. It enables people who are able, to fully oxygenate their lungs. This is good for all of us. The nurse had taught the ICU doctor and he was so impressed that he made a film on his phone and shared it. It was suggested that if we get a mild version this exercise would be beneficial.
Saw this on Facebook the other day - am trying to remember to do it in mornings!
Me too. I keep dreaming of being trapped in very tight spaces. I don’t need Jung to interpret those dreams.
Thanks. Good to know. Visual will help me recall. 🤗
Particularly the troubled look in the young doctor’s eyes when he feels dizzy with the deep breathing. 😉

Another take on the concept - including expert comment on him becoming dizzy doing it.
Silly question alert - as someone who never sleeps on front, as it is v uncomfortable, I’m interested in where the supporting pillow is placed - can you advise please? (I realise this isn’t a ‘sleeping’ guide!) tganks x
At a guess, an ordinary pillow used a bit like this

to support the shoulders and face. I can't find any images of an ordinary pillow.
When working on a patient in the prone position many physios have a thin pillow under the hips so the hip bones are protected and one under the shoulders to raise them.
Amazing thank you! My next question is what on earth to do with fledgling pigeon in garden ....with two shiatsus..... maybe beyond your fantastic wealth of knowledge?! X
I will happily pass on THAT one!!! I couldn't cope with either singly and both together - no way ...
Have you got any old carry boxes, a box or a crate from puppy days...for the pigeon I mean. Put food in it and then move it once the fledgling in it?? It's the local cats that will be finding it I am afraid.
I put down water and a fat ball - thankfully it has managed to flutter up and away. Phew. Thank you good idea for next time x
I rescued a fledgling blackbird once and fed it in a box until it got strong, we called it Da** Lucky. One day it flew away and we’ve had blackbirds in the garden ever since. No cats or dogs to complicate its recovery though.
I’m afraid there was a sad ending. 😥
Oh dear! I never forget all the bird deaths.
