They’re not all bad!

Saw a GP at 8am about my one sided pain. Hadn’t seen her before but she had great listening skills. Decided on x-ray to start with of right shoulder and neck to rule out any OA and booked for steroid injection for trochantic bursitis. Legged to it to x-ray department ( well ok it was actually a hobble 😂) at hospital and x-rayed at 9:10 and home by 9:30am. NHS at it’s best. Think I’ll try and stick with this GP where possible. You’ve got to hang onto the good ones.

Yes you have- and there are a lot about - it’s the system more than the individuals.

Plus if you can chose the right time for X-rays that’s usually works out well.

Bear in mind though that my xrays and scans all showed OA and bursitis pre diagnosis, but I still ended up having PMR. Those tests and subsequent results really slowed down my eventual diagnosis. My GP took no notice of fact that my lower back and hips were so painful as well as bilateral arm/shoulder pain. Nice to have a doctor who listens!

Mine seems to be happening the other way round. I’ve had PMR for nearly 4 years and now it’s all gone down one side! So hopefully they can get to the bottom of what’s going on.
