I’ve got good news and good news! I had a nuclear stress test last week and passed with flying colors. No coronary artery disease, no blockage, plaque or damage on my heart. In fact he said it was excellent, findings he’d expect for a 25-35 year old. I’ll take it.

Secondly, the Diltiazem is doing its job. My blood pressure dropped back to what’s normal for me. My pulse is down to 80 which is still high for me but not bad. I’m feeling better every day. Not 100% but a good 80%. I’ll take it. There’s still no physical reason for the afib which is true about 25% of the time. Two of my doctors suspect my body is experiencing a boomerang effect from quitting opiates a month ago. If that holds out to be true I’ll be going off the Diltiazem because it will be too much if my heart recovers. If not the Diltiazem is doing a pretty good job keeping things in line. My pulse literally drops every day.

Throughout all of this my PMR is holding steady. I wouldn’t have been surprised if my heart issues threw me into a major flare but it hasn’t. I’m feeling better every day and tomorrow I’m going to fly to Las Vegas to spend the holidays with my son and his family. There will major spoiling of grandchildren to do.

Thanks again for all the kind words on my previous post ❤️

Yes indeed, it was a huge relief! I had a career that kept me away from home a lot so this will be the first time I’ll see my son on Christmas Day since he was 13. That was 25 years ago. Have an amazing holiday too SJ!

Excellent! I went through this same procedure a few months back for the same reasons and got a good result also. My heart throws off an extra beat every so often, but cardiologist says not to worry.

Have a great reunion Christmas with your son!

So happy to hear you did well too. It was honestly the most unnerving experience until we got the results.

I will definitely have a great time. I see him often but it always worked out that I was gone on birthdays and holidays. Ugh! Have a wonderful Christmas and New Years.
