I thought I would write a separate post rather than try to reply individually.
First of all, thank you for your responses - it was good to have your support. The angiogram procedure went well and the good news is that the arteries are totally clear. However, there still isn’t an explanation of the raised heart rate and blood pressure. Of course, my original reason for being admitted to hospital was to check whether I’d had an heart attack and, once that had been decided, l ceased to be the concern of the cardiology department. I did however also have an ultrasound of my abdomen, which also showed no issues.
So, I’m now waiting to be discharged home, with a request to arrange an appointment with a GP to investigate the other issues. I’m really disappointed because I’d thought, from this morning’s consultation, that I would be followed up at the hospital, instead of which, I’ll be “startling from scratch” again. And heaven knows when that will be!! The tightness around my waist is still there but I’m trying not to worry - at least I know it’s not a cardiac issue. I’ll let you all know how I get on once I get home.

Thanks for the update Janann25. I hope you get a GP appointment soon and that the outstanding issues are properly addressed. At least you’ll have the hospital results, which in my experience GPs do tend to follow up.
I think I would be disappointed too - I would have expected at least a hospital follow-up, not handing over to a GP and starting from the beginning. But it is what they can manage I suppose - trouble shooting ... My daughter says it is manic in the ED and AMAU (acute medical assessment unit).
Well, I’ve been in 3 wards in 6 days with a total of 5 bed moves so yes, I think I agree life is manic in the hospital! I’m currently waiting to have my canula removed…….
Ah, a different consultant just arrived and confirmed I’m going home. I asked him about any follow up investigations for the PMR and he just confirmed that they have written to my GP - BUT, he doesn’t think there is any connection with PMR anyway 😠 Looks as if I’m going to have to start pushing the GP for investigations - and that’s not going to be easy because, not only
are f2f appointments a rarity, we only seem to have Locums at my practise so there’s no continuity. I’m just so tired ……………
You will be - once you are home and can sleep it will feel better!! Not a lot of point worrying about the PMR link, can't alter what is already done. The main difference it makes for me is that none of the doctors get their underwear in a knot about my pred dose!!!!
