Can prednisone cause a dry rash? It’s not itchy. Photo included. Thank you.

Are you on coated or plain pred? If coated it might be the colourant? You can apparently carefully wash it off in water.

Pred does thin our skin, has your collar been rubbing?

I am on plain. Possibly the collar of my shirt or a necklace could be the culprit. Thank you! :)

I put my bag diagonally across my body and it rubs my neck. I would moisturise for a few days. My pharmacist said 6 times a day! Not sure i always did that.

I have a white rash behind my knees and around my ankles, it us bumpy but not itchy.Didn't have it before prednisone.

I’m not a doctor but that looks like it could be an abrasion of fragile Pred skin or sun burn. The sharp line points to that and it’s just on one side. Have you had a stiff collar, jewellery, strap or exposed neck in the sun? It might be that the more fragile skin has become more reactive to things.

Yes it could be jewelry. Thank you. 😆

I get itchy and rashy from time to time on pred. Double base gel is very helpful

It looks a bit scaly- any history of psoriasis?

No but maybe it could be an onset but all these little issues seem to be coming from prednisone.

I have things that look like that, on my neck. But they itch me. Dermatologist said lichen simplex, which apparently has nothing to do with lichen. Maybe, a state of irritability in the skin, sensitivity. You can guess the rex....cortisone. So far, I get little itch bumps. It is better if I keep my hair from touching the back of my neck. Recently I’ve had one or two un the front of my neck and under my chin.

I also have been getting something similar around my waistline. But the bumps there seem to have a center. They can last for a week.

I assume it all has something to do with autoimmune, or allergy, or Pred, or PMR. Who knows.

Pred should actually help lichen simplex. Maybe you need to apply a topical version - tapering it off like tapering the pills, to avoid rebound, once the condition resolves.

Hi..has it cleared up at all? Was/is it warm to the touch? I can see a deeper scratch at the bottom right....just checking if infection.
