Not that you aren't welcome here, openname, but given that your autoimmune condition is quite different from ours, I think you'd do better on a site more focused on your particular diagnosis. Very few of us have any kidney issues, and that might be a very significant difference between how we use pred and how you use pred.

Wishing you well...

I'm far from clear as to what you want to know. What adverse reactions? After 3 years you must know what problems you have. Everyone is different.

In 3 years I had many bad reactions adverse but I’m wondering if you can develop heart problems?

I have heart problems, atrial fibrillation in particular, but it isn't due to the pred, it is due to the autoimmune component of my illness. Pred can cause tachycardia (fast heart rate) and raised BP. I don't know what age you are - the people on this forum are all over 50, advancing age is almost inevitably accompanied by the development of various things involving the heart.

I’m 20+ how bad is salt with prednisone ?You took long term Pred ?

I've been on pred for well over 9 years. Salt tends to cause fluid retention anyway and pred tends to make the effect worse.

You really should speak to your doctors about anything you are worried about and think is due to pred. Weight gain and delicate skin etc are things we as patients can make suggestions for but anything systemic needs medical input.

Do you use salt in your food ? There is something for fast heart rate ?because I have this adverse reaction

Only the salt that is in the Herbes de Provence mix I use for salads and roast veggies. I eat almost no processed food - sneak the occasional crisp/potato chip from OH but not often!

You know why I’m asking a prednisone user because you know having experience 9 years doctors just learn from books

You feel the pain ... You know what I’m mean

And they also learn from patients presenting with those side effects!

I was diagnosed with chronic active hepatitis (autoimmune) twenty years ago. Put on Pred and tapered slowly, came off entirely after three years. Had fatigue but no other side effects. Clear now but have GCA.

Thank you .how you feel with your hepatitis?

Fine as it has been in remission for fifteen years.

This is a really good description of how to safely taper prednisone to the best lowest dose which works for you.
