Yesterday I had a long awaited appointment with my rheumy. It’s a year since I last saw him as the last appointment was cancelled and I didn’t get another appointment until I went to the hospital and demanded one. I do see the rheumy nurse every 5 months. I actually saw the same consultant that I saw last year which was good. (Since their consultant retired about 4 years ago they have had locums). Anyway, I showed him PMRPROs slow taper that I am following and he agreed it was a good one. After I told him about the pain in my groin/pelvic area he gave me an injection and oh the joys! No pain today!! I know it won’t last but I’ll enjoy it while it does. 🌸

Good for you and ouch!
Actually Jane it didn't hurt. Too much fat on my bottom! Lol. 😂😂
I was denied one because of my lazy Adrenals. Perhaps I should have argued?
Great Appointment then! Take it easy for a few day & l’m glad the injection worked, that’ll make you feel better. 💐
Glad you had a good appointment and got some relief ☀️
Did he think the groin pain may be iliopsoas bursitis? Mine disappeared for a long time after a steroid shot.
He didn’t say. Hope mine does.
Ah yes, the joy of pain relief. I get 2.5 months of relief with knee injections. It made a huge difference during our recent vacation to be able to walk much longer distances, dance and ....well, I’ll leave it there.😉
Great result!!
My brother who is never ill, when he went to doctors as he had pain given painkillers and told if it got worse to go to a&e. He waited until he couldn't bare the pain anymore. He had various test. It was awfuL as he cancer and it had spread. He has been told it terminal and they an treat him but not sure him. He's only 56 and it is heartbreaking.
this message is that people do not ignore these signs and get specialists help.
So glad you got a positive response and much deserved relief.
While the injection is working try doing some gentle stretching exercises for the groin area after using some heat on the area.
This will allow you to start loosening any tightened ligaments , tendons and muscle in the area while the injection covers the nerve pain.
Increase your fluids and Vitamin C , Magnesium and potassium intake with food or supplements for the next few weeks too to aid repair ( you probably already take a supplement and Vitamin D).
By doing this now , you should find that the relief from the pain lasts longer , and keeping it up will keep the musles loose and help prevent as much pain after the injection has stopped working.
No gymnastics though !
Take care , Bee x
Thank you Bee. Very helpful. X
