Love it, would have been nice to have just soaked up the smell!....

..Worked in a chocolate factory in my twenties, never tired of the smell, and could eat as much as we liked!.....

I trained in York - 3 years of 2 chocolate factories and I was fed up of the smell, especially on a hot day. Some years later after I'd moved to Wales I was based in Chirk for a couple of yeas - Cadburys this time!

I do like chocolate but do find the smell to be a bit too much when it keeps wafting over through the day; I suppose if it's all around all the time one stops noticing.

Was it Mckintoshes in York?.....it was where I live, was on Easter eggs.....sitting watching the moulds go through.....😊

The whole city wafted of chocolate, it was missed when it went....now a shopping mall......for now....

Can't think when the merger was - college was other side of York in the Military Hospital (before the diploma course became a degree course in the way that nursing did)

I'd forgotten Cadburys used to at Chirk. The overwhelming smell now would be the chipboard factory. 😟

Can be sometimes but I'm not there very often as I went to work in Gwynedd (they need my qualifications more than speaking Welsh ) and I've been retired 11 years now

Can't decide what is the best thing to happen - if she survives tonight we have her for another year. OTOH, Boris and co should be mince. If she loses - they will waste so much time fighting over the crown between themselves, Article 50 must be at least delayed and possibly even withdrawn. Every silver lining has a cloud...

And as the in-fighting continues, more people become homeless, the NHS crumbles a bit more and teenagers continue to knife one another... Sometimes I think how much I'd like to be alone with David Cameron for a few minutes!

I think David Cameron should be called to account. The referendum was a travisty and left this country in this in this expensive mess. We should have been much better informed before we were asked to vote.

Yes he should! Arrogantly thought everything was going to go his way - and then baled out when he didn’t like the answer!

Been very low key since - now there’s a surprise! Not!

I have this wonderful memory of former visits to Brussels, leaving the Midi railway station and being overwhelmed by the lovely smell of fresh chocolate coming from the old Côte d'Or factory ...

I lived near the Cadbury’s factory in Bournville. I know the smell, not as delish as you might imagine.

Perhaps it will go down in history like the great Molasses Flood in Boston? Although hopefully not deadly.

Years ago in downtown Halifax (Nova Scotia) there was a chocolate factory and also a fish processing plant. Particularly on foggy days, of which we have many, the combination of peppermint patty and smoked mackerel was quite something. Ambience much less interesting since the chocolate factory upped stakes, eventually to end up in Mexico, and the fish plant closed.
