Fran, how do I subscribe to HU if I live in Germany? Your info was just for UK.

Click on the two speech bubbles and then compose. Start typing in either Fran or cabdys and and it will come up with names. Click on the right name and then just message as normalxx

Hi Constance, yes we are a UK based charity although through our forum here on HU we provide support to people from all over the world. Typically our charity membership is UK based but we welcome anyone who wants to join us and to help support us from wherever they are in the world.

Our international members are managed online to save on costs and so they are automatically set up for email communication for things such as our newsletter and although the information in there is UK centric, some of it is relevant to people outside of the UK - for example our regular research roundup page in the latest edition includes research from Japan, Denmark and Australia; and the letter from the doctor at the Mayo Clinic in the USA again would be of interest to many people not just those living in the UK.

But if you're question is about subscribing to HU - we don't restrict access to this in anyway (except that it is for people with PMR and/or GCA obviously and we ask them to abide by the guidelines) and so there is no fee to use it. We do hope that people who use it and get a benefit from it will either support us by making a donation or joining as a member.

Does that help?

Fran

That's what constance wants to do fran. She is already a long time user of the forum and wants to become a member. I assume this is what you meant by being managed online to save costs? YBB

Thanks Fran - I knew most of it but I tried to donate about three years ago - by Paypal, but (although I tried twice it didn't work ). I am ashamed to say it just went out of my mind until I saw a post from you some days ago.

I think "being a member" on the forums doesn't mean you are actually a member (if you see what I mean). Perhaps I should try Paypal again. What would be the address I post it to - just Health Unlocked.com??

Sorry I'm such a tw-t as far as internet is concerned.

I've been in touch with Fran and she says people can pay by credit card. Not sure if that is possible from here but will get OH to look into it.

Credit card payment is usually international

I think it more dependent on whether the payee will accept the credit card when it’s registered in a different country. Some will, some won’t... and sometimes it’s the card provider’s rules.

But if Fran reckons it’s okay- worth giving it a go.

I've been trying to donate from Canada for years now and recently learned through private messages with Candy that they are modifying the website and will be enabling donations from outside the UK in the near future.
