How I love going to sleep. In my dreams I am an active, fun-loving, healthy person. I still walk along beeches, walk in the mountains, etc etc. I go on river cruises (I really do), I swim, sunbathe, do all the things I used to do.
Then I wake up, struggle out of bed, waddle to the toilet - and my thoughts are "well, I'm still alive". Life's good!
HAPPY ADVENT EVERYONE.

The other night I woke suddenly because something told my sleeping mind I could no longer run like I was and my legs stopped working. It was very disconcerting.
I am very active in my (weird) dreams. Given I haven't walked without at least a stick for 15plus years it's very enjoyable. Like you say swimming in rivers, running around etc etc. My favorite thing I do in dreams, which I loved well into adult adulthood (30s), is breaking into skipping. Even now it makes me smile to think of it. It used to make me laugh out loud and giddy...🏃🏼♀️🤸♀️ Whooo hooooo🤣🤣🤣
Hi Constance, I love that name btw, I am new to this illness and my brain hasn’t caught up yet at all, went on crazy tidy at the wkend having a chilled day today, brought out all the bad illness stuff , paying more attention to me today, told my husband to read about pmr, actually nagged him about doing stuff around the house, ( he didn’t know the vacuum cleaner had attachments) gawd help me. Lol. I think today’s men are more clued up to doing stuff, mines of the age of work feet up, woman cooks n cleans. Any way chin up we will muddle on together, our minds can ponder on walks and daffodils, we can go along for the ride. Stay well xx
I have a very active life in Dreamland! I remember my dreams well and they usually tell a story that helps me in real life symbolically. Most dreams are either enjoyable or neutral, but some are sad or scary. All are interesting, and I sometimes write them down. I get to see my husband in my dreams (he passed away 11 years ago) and that makes me happy the next day.
Hi Trev, the 'activity' in dreams does help doesn't it? It leaves a good feeling during the day and we feel somehow that we still are 'us' somewhere/somehow, and to dream about your husband is beautiful.
When I was younger I could never remember dreams, now I can.
How are you doing now? Is your Sed rate under control? You had a similar start to me and the doctors/rheumatologists could never understand why my crp and sed rate weren't kept under control by pred. They never did find out. After a couple of years inflammatory arthritis joined in the fun (I suppose it had always been in the background).
Hi Constance, thanks for the reply. Yes, I've written so many dreams down that I started a fantasy novel using them as the action for the main character. It is fun, but I'm lost in the plot now, don't know where to turn. Have to dream a dream about it, I guess.
Yes, I am still struggling with prednisone. Next week I start Actemra for "inflammatory arthritis" sorta like you? I sure wish it would be a miracle cure, but there's been so many that haven't worked.
