I had my second Pfizer injection on Wednesday and felt absolutely fine. Now - 4 days later - I feel pretty ill (no energy, unusual aches, etc). I upped my Pred this afternoon (by 3mg) and took an extra Cocodamol and it seems to be helping.
Easter Greetings to you all. ๐๐ฅ๐๐คฉ๐ป

Don't know about you - my second jag is on Monday - and Tuesday Italy is to be moved north of the Arctic Circle for a few days which is likely to coincide with feeling rubbish. I shall make sure I don't have to go out and stay in bed!!!
Artic weather due here too. You may be lucky and not have any side effects, mine are bearable so not keeping me in bed (and the extra Pred/Cocodamol really are working).
We don't intend going anywhere for two weeks then we can allow ourselves a few short trips.
How do/ did you feel Constance13 after the second jab? Mine due Tuesday and Iโm kinda dreading how Iโll feel, as I am meeting friends in the park, and seeing one grandchild?!! ๐ณ๐ฅต
Immediately after the jab - and for the next two days - I felt as fit as PMR and PA will allow me. On the third day I was totally knackered and 'off colour'. I rested all day and did feel a bit better by the evening. On the fourth day I was still tired and a bit achey but 'manageable'. Today fit as a fiddle.๐
You'll be fine - just don't overdo it with your family and friends.๐ ๐๐
Thanks so much for that info Constance13. Friday (3 days afterwards is when Iโm due to meet friends in park. If I canโt do it then itโs a no brainer, thereโs always another day, and Iโll not worry about it! ๐ . Hope youโre enjoying the fine weather. My grandchildren have worn me out today! ๐๐๐ฃ
According to Tim Spector, the epidemiologist from the Zoe Covid reporting app, many people feel awful after the second Pfizer jab, especially if they have had Covid in the last year.
Hubby and I have both Pfizer vaccines. Me - the one with the autoimmune condition - had NO reaction to either. Hubby had a sore arm after the first and a little fatigue. NO FEAR!
Mt husband had no problems at all with either of his Pfizer jabs. I am due my second AZ on Friday, was fine with the first, so keeping fingers crossed.
I am so sorry you had such a bad reaction to the second jab. But to anyone nervously waiting for jab no 2, I can report that I had no after effects whatsoever. I think it must be a matter of luck - or bad luck.Wishing everyone well, and a happy if chilly Easter. Go on, have a little treat of whatever takes your fancy - fizz, chocolate, hot cross bun - after this year I think we all deserve it!
Iโm having my second jab on Easter Tuesday - Pfizer. I didnโt feel too clever after the 1st one, but just weary, felt cold, and elephant legs for a week. Read that older folk get less problems with side effects, so hereโs hoping! Some things get better with age?! Happy ๐ Easter ๐ฃ everyone. ๐๐๐ฐx
Well? We are all getting older but at my age it gets rather questionable about how long I've got!! One thing is sure - I want to go out laughing!!๐๐
Like having the Covid jab, and supposedly having few side effects from it! Nothing else ... apart from being a bit less anxious and wiser! Everything else is crumbling gently! ๐
I try to worry about nothing - what the hell can we do about most of the things that are disturbing in the world? Of course, sometimes, we have our own self or those dear to us to worry about but "what we can't change" what's the point?
Try to be happy Maria - we all (or definitely "most of us") are doing relatively well for our age. There are exceptions, of course, but........!?!
I have to take 2 anti hypertensive medicine... one of which is a beta blocker, which does stump a lot of my anxiety. I still worry over my children and grandchildren though, and my health to some extent. Meditation helps me too, and I try to take a positive spin on things. Iโve been tested by fire most of my life, so perhaps someone wherever, thinks itโs time she had a break! ๐๐ฅฐ๐xx
I take a beta blocker too and it does help. I don't feel anxious all the time it's just if a potential problem is on the horizon my mind won't let it go I've always been like this but I think it's got worse with age. This year's isolation hasn't helped but I do have friends whom I talk to (virtually) frequently. My daughters are not in too bad a position and I'm proud of my grandson.
At the moment I'm just niggling about an upcoming hospital procedure and second covid jab. But now the sun is shining and everything feels a bit better.
A little reassurance for those waiting for vaccination. I had my second Pfizer jab about 4 weeks ago. Could have been saline. No reaction at all (and not to the first). Not even a sore arm. I have tapered in 18 months from 60 mg to 5mg.
Please do not think of the sickness after the 2nd jab as a reaction, think of it as a response. That is what it is; a healthy response to the vaccination, While it may be crummy, (I was laid out for two days from Moderna 2nd) it will pass, and is a sign the immune response is working. I am not a rheumatologist, but my rheumatologist is the one who told me to think of it as a response. I did not raise my prednisone dose, To my mind raising the dose of prednisone would further suppress my immune system and lessen the "response" of the vaccine,
I had my second Pfizer jab Feb 20. The day after, I seemed to lose my equilibrium for about 4 hrs. Other than that, nothing else. Iโm 72 on the 10th of April. My wife (67) had her second Pfizer jab two weeks ago. About four days after, she had a rash all over for a couple of days. No other problems
I had bad reaction after my second Moderna shot. Was fine until I went to bed with terrible chills, fever, throwing up, headache. Took 3 days to recover. Now I'm fine.
Hereโs another Covid story. I was diagnosed with PMR in Oct 2020 and have tapered down to 14mg so far (DSNS taper) and seem to be managing the PMR pretty well. I got my 2nd Pfizer three days ago. Developed slightly sore arm later that day. Yesterday, I started getting stomach cramps and a touch of diarrhea. Itโs continued through today, though not as painful as yesterday. Iโve read that gastro reactions to Pfizer are in the top ten of reported side effects, so I think itโs โnormalโ just one way the body is responding to the vaccine. Minor inconvenience to avoid Covid. QUESTION: does the fact that my body is showing a response mean I can worry less about the vaccine being suppressed by prednisone?
No - the ZOE study said in a recent video that there is no link between reactions and development of immunity - at least in the sense that if you didn't have a reaction it doesn't mean you have no immune response. I'm assuming that for the moment I need to continue just as I have for the last year. I don't see me not wearing a mask for a very long time and eating/drinking out will be done outside like last later summer when we did start going to the village cafe again.
