I have decided that Tuesdays are going to be "spoiling me" days.😂 It is the only day in the week that there isn't anything going on.
My husband brings me in a cup of tea at 7.30, he then brings in my breakfast (half a crusty roll with marmalade or cheese) at 8.30 (am I lucky or am I lucky)😂 - then I read a book till 10.00. Then the most strenuous part of the day takes place - I have a shower (I HATE showers - why ever did we move into a flat with no bath)? And no I don't smell the rest of the week - it's amazing what a rough flannel will do!😂
Time to relax - look up posts, read the news ☹️ until 11. Then I cream myself, spray perfume on my hair (can't put it on my sensitive skin)!
The rest of the day I will "potter" but not "work".
Off piste? Not really, it soothes my many many pains, relaxes my muscles and makes me feel good.

If i had pure cotton i might be tempted in to ironing but poly cotton doesnt need it. I love the idea of pure cotton but know i am inherently lazy so really no point!!
Trouble with that is we would have to travel 6 kms to reach the laundries (not such a thing in our mini-town). Then it takes them 10 days to wash and iron them (10 days)!!! Then 6kms there and back to collect them. Goodness knows what the overall cost would be. I'd rather have the creases.😂😂
I am actually in the same position. Around 10km from a Chinese laundry, but only a week to wash. I do have spare sheets etc though. I love ironed white sheets, but not by me!
Oh donta i am lazy enough as it is without suggesting a laundry. Years ago my friend asked if i wanted my ironing done as she need extra money (husband wouldnt let her work outside of their home!!!)
I jumped at the chance as i was working full time and the girls were at school. She moved away a decade ago and have never bothered ironing anything bar shirts since then.
At this time of year the ironing, timed right, is a pleasure. You freeze dry the duvet covers at -10C overnight and iron them from that temperature. It makes a suberbly smooth finish
I have both but like you i love a nice bath but the scene when i am trying to get out is hilarious i am sure. Before we mi ed the taps were in the normal place at the end of the bath and i could hold on to them for leverage. Now the tap is in the side of the bath and the controls up with the shower ones. Now its a bit like a tidal wave of bubbly water threatening the bathroom as i get on my hands and knees and use the sides to haul myself out!! Hippo wallowing comes to mind!!
A lovely idea! My OH and I do something similar about dreaded Mondays. We always remind each other that it’s Monday when we are sitting on a veranda in Madeira at sunset for instance. It took years for the dread of Monday to fade for me.
I haven't dreaded Mondays for 55 years. Once I started teaching (only adults) I loved my job. If people didn't want to learn they left - then only those who were eager for knowledge remained - wonderful.💥
Me too Jane... As a GP recrptionisy, Monday was by far the worst day... Queue round the block and never enough appointments... That's the one aspect of the job I certainly do not miss... You've painted a lovely peaceful picture of viewing sunset on a balcony overlooking the sea... Lovely 🌅
👍 I've not dreaded Mondays for 50 years. I loved teaching (only adults) - if they didn't want to work, they left so you were left with people eager to learn.
Sounds a great idea to me - now what day shall I choose for my special day? I suppose since I’ve been retired and able to choose what to do - except all my 94 year old mum’s appointments, every day seems a special day!!
