So, after finding this bloody tumour on my pituitary I went to see a Neuro surgeon. We were with him for around 1 hour

He is fairly sure that this has been my problem all along and possibly not PMR. He said that going by the size of the tumour it has probably been growing for 10 to 15 years..

I have had loads of blood work done including sed rate and that is now very close to normal

There was a lot of explaining regarding how it could have affected different things during the time it's been growing and a long discussion on our next course of action.

The long and the short of it is, he is going to operate transphenoidally (through the nose) during the last week of Sept. And is confident that it will be successful.

The problem is that the tumour is now so large that it is pressing on the optic nerve and is beginning to affect my sight. I have minor reduction in right periferal vision in my left eye.

It has also knocked out many of my hormones so is causing chaos in my body.

Should be only 3 to 5 days in hospital in Nicosia if all goes well. (Which it will, I'm being positive.)

I'll keep you posted.

Keep as well as you can everyone and stay strong.

Brian.
