CDB oil

I started to take CDB oil and then I read that it can affect the effectiveness of steroids and many other medications. This is not necessarily so, but the steroids may need adjustment, so regretfully I have stopped taken them. I should be glad of any comments.

Make sure you take it at least 2 hours apart - that's all.

The advice I have is to make sure there is a two hour gap between taking allopathic medication and CBD. This is recommended so so not to stress the liver as the same mechanism is used to break down CBD as is used for other medication.

I have researched the subject widely for myself and so far the only other warning is that CBD can thin the blood so warfarin and other blood thinners may work too well. So most people who are having an operation or procedure stop their CBD at least two weeks before and do not take it until their wound has healed. I have found nothing about interaction with steroids.

Unfortunately there is not really one place you can find this info. I had to search the web and join several forums. This may start to change as countries approve medical use of cannibidiols.

I spoke to my gp and like most he didn't know a great deal but did do some reading around it and supports my use of it Don't expect many GPs are that obliging though. He even suggested tumeric to me as well which I am also taking.

Hi

I have been taking the cbd oil for several months. One it is very expensive. Two it does help some but I can't afford the level I need to take to get some relief. I want to thank everyone with the comments about interaction with other meds. I didn't realize that. I am going to start timing the oil a little differently and see if I can't get a better result and still be able to afford it. I have friends (not pmr sufferers) who get a lot of relief from pain using 2X500mg twice daily.

I may be wrong but I think I read that using cbd oil with steroids should make the steriods work stronger so we should be able to cut back on the steroids. I will try and find where I read that.
