My heart goes out to all our members who live in and around the Florida. This kind of event wounds all of us. It is just so sad. Sending love to you all.

So sorry to hear about the mass shooting at a Florida school.
Thank you, SJ.
What I am sorry about is that we have to go through this again and again and again.
And I wonder who those young people would have become had they lived.
This is dreadful,so many parents losing their children in this way.lt is so heartbreaking. There are so many guns in America this is going to keep happening again and again.
Thank you for your thoughtfulness.
It is beyond comprehension that these assault weapons are for sale to civilians in this country. Keeping them out of the hands of people with known mental health problems doesn't go nearly far enough.
I find myself more and more dismayed at what is happening here, on many levels.
Hugs ❤️.
We are super aware of what goes on these days which has to be a good thing but it does feel like bad news over- load at times. There are plenty of good people and unsung heroes beavering away out there. Look at our random group for instance.
The statistic that horrified me most was that this is the 18th such event in the US in 2018. Not, as one media presenter said "in a year" - "in THIS year". Which is barely 6 weeks old.
As parents and grandparents we are especially saddened. I worked in chaotic urban schools for many years where gang killings were common place. Every student lost a relative or family member to violence. I was not afraid to do my work. Now I am terrified. Glad my financial services business is being sold and pray the sale will soon be complete. PMR was the push I needed to stop working. Something has to be done about gun control and mental health services. Our president said we are there for the victims but didn’t say how or what will be done. Prayer and thoughts are simply not enough. Action is long overdue.
