Old posts aren’t binned - yours are in your profile - under “Posts”… 🤣😂 no advice on statins from me -intolerant to them all since GCA..

For others posts, either raise a post with statin in title and you’ll get related posts - there are oodles - or type statins in search… and then filter so you only get PMRGCAuk replies…

Enjoy cruise…🌸

You - like me - don't act your age ... I was pointing out the irony of blaming age on inability to find things and asking someone older ... Sorry 😜

Yes I did get your point, but I thought you might also be checking if I was awake… I am.. and no I don’t act my age.. unless I need to!

I did succumb to the ‘little old lady ‘ act earlier this week when low tyre pressure light came on as I got into car after latest covid jab - so I hightailed it to service garage/MOT centre on nearest industrial estate and sweetly explained and asked if someone could check pressures! No problem, 2 very kind gents leapt into action.. You have to do, what you have to do..😊

Well quite - I even do the old dear act if I use the bus! Always take a crutch - guarantees most drivers wait until I'm seated instead of hurtling off as they do with other older passengers! Then I walk along swinging the crutch ...

There is no single answer to the statins question - you have to try until you find one that works for you and it may take a few attempts. Just because someone does OK with one, it doesn't mean you will. Many sing the praises of atorvastatin, it almost had me in a wheelchair.

All your posts and replies are on your Profile page ...

To be fair - that is very very rare. Not much of a consolation when it was you they caught though!

Me too.I have given up on statins as I have never found one I can tolerate.

Morning HW, I struggled with Atorvastain, Pravastatin and Simvador (Simvastatin) , really bad joint/muscle pain, but have been taking Rosuvastatin for many years (5mg) with no problems. Long before PMR and since PMR arrived on the scene.

Yes Rosuvastatin works for me after trying various others 🌺

Hi, there’s a natural one called “cardiac plus” that you can buy in Holland and Barrett or Amazon. I take it and it reduced mine by .8

Thank you I read the information and unfortunately if you take blood thinners you cannot take it.🙁

As happens with many supplements etc ... and although we do remind members to add the caveat "remember to check there's no interactions with existing drugs" - not many do!

Starins are the subject of any other post this morning. My answer is yes, I take Atorvastatin & have no side effects. I’m currently giving up a different type of drug as I can stick the side effects, & it’s happened with 3 other drugs, none of them statins! My husband started taking one 3 months ago…again Atorvastatin & no issues, but he doesn’t have PMR. You may want to read the other post!! S x

I too take Rosuvastatin, 10 mgs daily. No problems.

I have GCA and have found Rosuvastatin to be great. Atorvastatin didn't work for me.
