This is supposed to be Happy Christmas season with streets full of people who are out and about doing their shopping. This is not supposed to be a season of looking over one's shoulder and running for shelter.

It appears it was not a terrorist attack as thought initially, but of course it was “all symptoms go” until the police were sure everyone was safe. Good it all worked out well in the end.

No casualties and no perpetrators found. I suspect it was an emergency services rehearsal. Most Londoners just looked bored. No evidence of gunfire - some irresponsible tweeting as usual.
Wow. Rehearsal? Yikes. I guess they are very necessary. I don't think we have those here. Just all other kinds of shenanigans.

A reporter said some people she spoke to said it was a heated argument near them, one of the group screamed (in temper?!) which then started a stampede.
