FORTEO for bone fractures

I’m giving myself daily injections of FORTEO since nov 06,17. Also, I have PMR/GCA. I never show lab results supporting my diagnoses; however the biopsy was positive for GCA and I have monthly infusions of actemra to prevent blindness and to allow me to get off prednisone. 7 mg now on slow taper. The FORTEO was allowed because of several back fractures although I only show pinea. The FORTEO is working already. I had adjustment issues to self injection and each time I was off FORTEO I had a lot of pain. I feel my strength to stand up from squatting position has improved just in the 6 or 7 weeks I’ve been on it. I have a grant from Lilly pharma. Due to its high copay. It seems to be a lifesaver . Has anyone else had this positive result from FORTEO?

Emma, although I have no personal experience with Forteo, my elderly aunt was on it for two years following a spinal fracture. The spinal fracture occurred in spite of her having been on bisphosphonates for many years. She tolerated the Forteo injections exceptionally well and her bone density improved immensely, so much so that during her 80’s she was still able to attend the gym and continue with her favourite ballroom dancing nights! I do hope it will continue to prove successful for you, too.
